Generic Lead Processors are used when you're getting leads by email from sources not native to Pageport—like your website, a form link, or a third-party provider.
When to Use a Generic Processor
If you're receiving lead emails and Pageport doesn’t list the source under standard processors, you’ll use the Generic Lead Processor. As long as lead details are sent via email, this setup lets Pageport parse and import them automatically.
Creating the Processor
Go to the Lead Processors tab, click Add Processor, and select Generic Email Lead Processor. The setup is mostly the same as other processors, but here you’ll need to map the fields manually.

Mapping Email Fields
Make sure to select the fields that appear in your lead emails with the leads contact info—like first name, last name, email, phone number, or job title. Pageport uses these to parse your leads.
If fields aren’t mapped correctly, leads may not import. For leads to parse correctly, the selected fields must match the fields in the email you receive.
Need to capture info that’s not listed? Go to Settings > Custom Fields to create a new one. Once added, it’ll appear in your field mapping options.
Setting Up Email Forwarding
Once your processor is created, it will generate a Forwarding Email Address. You’ll need to set up a forwarding rule in your email inbox to send incoming lead emails to that address.
Here are some help desk articles from Google and Microsoft if you need help setting up an auto-forwarding rule.
