SMS Overview

Updated this week

If your Pageport account has texting enabled—either through a native Pageport number or an integration like MyRepChat or RingCentral—you can send and receive text messages directly within the platform. Whether you’re reaching out manually or managing replies, there are a few key areas to know about.

Sending a Text from the Lead Details Page

To send a one-off message to a lead, go to the Leads table and click into the lead’s details page. On the left-hand side, you’ll see a SMS button beneath their contact details. Clicking that will open a message window with a pre-filled message, which you can edit before sending. Confirm and proceed by clicking "Send SMS." This sends the message immediately from your connected Pageport number.

Using the Conversations Tab

Your main hub to manage texts is the Conversations tab, located just under the Tasks section on the side bar. From here, you’ll see your messaging history listed by lead on the left side. Clicking a lead’s name will open the full thread of sent and received messages. You can type a new message directly in the text box and hit Send to initiate a new conversation. If a lead replies, their response will appear in this thread and a notification will be sent via email to the lead owner, prompting you to log in and follow up.

Managing Replies with Integrated SMS Tools

If you’re using a texting integration like MyRepChat or RingCentral, you should use those platforms as your primary source of truth for ongoing text communication. While Pageport will initiate automated messages for sequences using your integrated number, any two-way conversations beyond the initial outreach should be managed directly within the texting platform you’re integrated with. This ensures accurate records and compliance within your broker-dealer’s preferred system.

Texting Within Automated Sequences

Pageport also supports automated text messages as part of your lead sequences. These are sent using your connected number, whether native or integrated, and function alongside your emails and call tasks to create a seamless outreach workflow. Manual texting, as described above, can be used to supplement these automations whenever direct engagement is needed.
