A guide on how to fix incorrect merge tags.

Updated over 2 months ago

If you notice merge tags like your calendar link, name, or a lead’s name not filling in correctly—or showing up blank—this guide will walk you through how to fix them.

Check Your Settings

Most merge tags pull data directly from your profile settings. Start here:

  • Go to Settings.

  • Make sure all relevant fields (e.g. your calendar link, phone number, name) are filled out correctly.

If these fields are empty or incorrect, the merge tags won’t populate properly.

Update Merge Tags in Emails, Texts, and Video Pages

Click into the email, text message, or video page where the issue is happening and delete the current (possibly broken) merge tag.

For Email:

For Text:

Click the merge tag dropdown on the toolbar and select the correct tag (e.g. Lead > First Name or Lead Owner > First Name).

For Email:

For Text:

Note: Avoid manually typing merge tags. Using the insert tool prevents syntax errors caused by typos or copy-paste issues.
