To ensure your contacts sync correctly from your CRM into Pageport, you'll need to map your CRM’s contact statuses to the three contact status types recognized by Pageport: Lead, Client, and Past Client. This guide walks you through how to complete that mapping so your contact data stays properly categorized.
Accessing Contact Status Mapping Settings
Start by navigating to Settings > Integrations. Once your CRM is connected, click on the small settings icon in your CRM integration. This will open up your integration preferences.
On the left-hand menu under Default Settings, scroll down to the bottom where you’ll find two options: Client Contact Statuses and Past Client Contact Statuses. These are where you’ll define how your CRM’s contact categories will sync into Pageport.
Mapping Clients and Past Clients
Pageport simplifies contact statuses by using just three status types: Lead, Client, and Past Client. Since your CRM likely includes more detailed or custom statuses, you’ll need to decide how each one should map to Pageport’s database.
Start by identifying which statuses in your CRM represent active or current relationships—such as Active Client, Child of Client, or Spouse of Client. You may want all of these to be mapped to Client in Pageport to ensure they’re treated as ongoing relationships.
Then, move on to mapping your Past Clients. This typically includes statuses like Inactive or Deceased. Assign those to the Past Client category in Pageport so your contact list remains organized and accurate.
Note:
Any contact status that is not explicitly mapped to Client or Past Client will automatically default to Lead in Pageport. To avoid misidentified contacts, be sure to review and map all relevant statuses during setup.
Saving Your Mappings
Once you've made your selections for both Client and Past Client, be sure to click Save. These mappings will then be saved in Pageport and applied automatically to future CRM syncs, ensuring your contacts are pulled in with the right status.
Taking the time to correctly map your contact statuses helps Pageport organize your leads and clients effectively from day one. If you're unsure how a particular CRM status should be mapped, consider how you currently engage with that contact—and when in doubt, reach out to our support team for guidance.
