Sequence Task Settings

Learn about sequence task settings: how to require task completion before advancing and how to handle incomplete tasks when a sequence ends.

Updated over 2 months ago

Pageport offers two setting options to help automate tasks within a sequence. Learn how to require tasks to be completed before moving to the next step in a sequence and how to mark all incomplete tasks as skipped when a lead finishes a sequence.

To start, navigate to Sequences > View sequence.

Sequence-level Settings

The first two settings to explore will allow you to (1) require a task be completed before the sequence continues and (2) mark all tasks as skipped if a lead is marked as "finished." Here are the steps to manage those two settings:

1. Click Settings on the top of your sequence

Click Settings

2. Check the task settings you want to apply to your sequence

When you select Require tasks to be completed before moving to the next step?, a lead will not move to the next step in your sequence until the task before has been marked as completed.

When you select Mark all incomplete tasks as skipped when sequence finishes?, any incomplete tasks that have been created as a lead moves through that sequence will be marked as skipped once the lead has finished the sequence.

Once you have selected your desired task settings, click Save.

Task-level Settings

In addition to the sequence-level settings, you can make adjustments to a specific task in your sequence. To start, navigate back to the sequence steps and find the task you'd like to update. Click on the settings icon > Update step details.

From this menu, you can easily adjust the following:

  1. Task Owner - Assign who the lead is assigned to.

  2. Notifications - Choose whether you'd like a notification email when a task is created.

  3. Skip task - If a lead has an outstanding task, skip the creation of the next task.
